Sale of 72 acres by
Adam & Sarah Kilby
to James Frey

p>13 Nov 1779 Adam & Sarah Kilby to James Frey of Maryland, 192 acres adjacent to Thomas Sparks, Benjamin Hawkins, Jacob Manspeil and John Broyle "it being the land which left by the said Kilby father to the said Adam Kilby ad Henry Kilby, only 21 acres of the said land which the said Adam Kilby took up since his Father's death adjoining the other 171 acres (DB K, p. 114).

Adam Kilby was granted 42 acres. Taking Adam's word that it was 21 acres, that leaves 71 acres that he sold of his own and 100 acre wich had belonged to Henry Kilby. This deed implies that Henry Kilby had died. Adam moved to Wilkes County, North Carolina and later, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
